mechanical focus – as opposed to focus by wire?

AF lenses (contrast detect AF) with mechanical MF.

I have no more information.

Allow me to be sceptical…yet hopeful all at once. Lenses such as these would make the NX system a viable option for many advanced photographers. I am currently reviewing the NX10 for my website and am very impressed by the hardware, though not so much with the firmware that’s currently holding it back.

Once Samsung add much-needed features to the firmware, the NX10 will become a very powerful camera. It has A LOT of potential, but it needs some high quality primes to realise it. While the 30mm f/2 pancake is a great start (and would be my first lens purchase and most used focal length), the addition of the above mentioned fast primes would make for a very strong camera system.

I hope this rumour turns out to be true.

I hope it turns out to be true also. It could be the tipping point in making me decide to purchase the camera or not. I’m sure you’ll let us know once you find out either way
